Side Oats Grama is noted for oat-like spikes which hang from only one side its flowering stems. Narrow bluish-gray leaf blades form a dense clump that turns golden brown in autumn with distinctive hues of orange and red. Mass in meadows, prairies, slopes and native plant gardens. It can also be used as a turf grass and regularly mowed to about 2 to 4 inches tall.
